Photograms Bitten by a Woman
2024
Heady and sharp, the scent of the chemicals mixes with the taste of photographic paper in this biting performance. This feast of senses results in a series of screams or singing lips. Made in the shadows of my mouth, this work attempts to reimagine feminine objects as tools in creating layers of meaning. This was done with an appetite for referencing the history of exclusion of women from photographic darkrooms and a hunger for a non-representationalist attitude to darkroom printing. Through repetition, I am being consumed by the process.
The produced artefact is a series of 23 photograms 10cm x 7.5cm
